A great day!  The weather was beautiful for our annual charity match and 38 shooters came out to participate.  We use the proceeds from this match to support a charity and this year the funds were boosted by a "Poker Draw". Everyone that took part paid $5 to buy in and then after each stage a card was drawn so that at the end of the match you ended up with five cards.  The person with the high hand got half the pot and the other half went to the charity. It worked well and we will probably do more in the future to raise funds.  Thanks to Vic Fink for bringing up this idea and making sure that it happened.  

I want to mention how pleased I was with the setup for this match on Saturday.  We had a great crew of ten workers plus Mike Shapiro had all of the walls and other components laid out on the bays for us in advance.  That was a huge help!  It only took us an hour and a half to set up the match!  That has to be a new record.  Joe Aldegarie had all of the targets prepared in advance as well so that was another big job that we didn't have to deal with on setup day. This is the kind of teamwork I would like to see at every club event.  I know that is not always possible because people have lives and can't always come out to help, but I think as we have refined our process we are seeing the results in a streamlined setup day.  I think there are still some things we can do to make it even better and I for one am always looking for ways to change if it will make our job easier.  

Our next event will be the Fred Jacobi Memorial Concealed Carry Match on October 4th.  Don't forget that we will have a steel match on October 11 to close out the season.
