Hi Club Members,

Our club has remained busy, and I wanted to let you know about some of our activities:

Many thanks go to Lee Bergman who has worked on several projects for the club. Among these, Lee, Mike Shapiro, Joe Aldegarie, and Randy Hutcheson completed another set of our new walls. The walls and use of club and personal trailers have significantly improved the efficiency of our setup crews. Thanks also to Jeff Turek and Carol Fowler who contributed 2 MGM poppers to the club.

We are in the process of establishing the Fred Jacobi Junior Shooter Program. Fred was a longtime club member who was serving on our Board of Directors when he passed away in 2011. Fred was a strong advocate of bringing new shooters to the range and to our sport. He gently exposed them to the safety and fun of shooting, then allowed them to choose their future participation armed with their newfound knowledge. Recognizing the need to attract young shooters to competitive shooting, the Board of Directors decided to use the memorial fund established in Fred's honor to create this new program.

To participate in the program, a shooter must be under 18 at the beginning of match season, have a parent or grandparent that is a member of BSPSC, and have continuing permission from his or her parents/guardians. BSPSC will provide a mentor (RO/CRO) with access to our New Competitor Safety Briefing, a kydex holster, 5 mag pouches, and competition belt. We will also provide $25.00 worth of ammo for each match, and no-cost match registration. Participation will be for one shooting season, beginning with the 2016 season, and may be renewed for one year. If you have a junior shooter that is interested in this program, please contact me.

After numerous requests for a second multigun match, we have scheduled the match for August 30th. The Steel Challenge match originally scheduled for that date will be moved to October 11th. This scheduling will enable us to use the long range bays without interfering with the typical fall influx of hunters checking their rifles, and still allows us to have the steel match, which can be conducted even with cooler weather. Please help us by submitting your multigun stage ideas.

Many of you have requested opportunities to help with club projects. We have a number of future projects, including off-season tasks that need a coordinator and teams. Potential projects include:

Improving target shed storage

Painting and drilling new/existing fault lines
Retrofitting and constructing walls
Welding/repairing target feet
Refreshing poppers (turning plates, replacing adjustment bolts/nuts, and welding cracks)
Painting wall shed
Painting target shed
Replacing target shed roof
If you are interested in participating in these projects, please contact me.

Our next match will be the Northern Rockies Section Championship on August 9th and we should have the stages and registration link posted on the website this weekend. The match will have 7 stages, so please come out and help us with setup at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 8th.

Thanks!
